Lufthansa: Pay by PayPal or it’s an extra £4…

05/02/2010 by Kevincm

One of the things that REALLY do annoy me is credit card fees when you book flights.  What was a fee for processing a card is rapidly turning into a profit centre. Today's example of this is Lufthansa's £50 single UK-Germany fare. Here's how it's built up: Ok - apart from the fuel surcharge rip off and the fact I want to go to Frankfurt - not somewhere in … [Read more...]

The Fallout of the changes at BMI…

19/01/2010 by Kevincm

Well it's been a good few hours since BMI has announced its latest method of death spiral. Lets take a closer look to see how this is going to happen - step by step (I've excluded the end of Manchester Long Haul for this exercise). Wet-Lease to Lufthansa Italia/Lufthansa Mainline - A sign on the beginning when an A319 were shifted away from BMI Mainline duties to help … [Read more...]

The News Roundup

17/10/2009 by Kevincm

Sorry I haven't had a chance to do this this past two weeks - life at Kevin Towers has been close to a living hell. Those who know the words "Exchange Server Migration" will know where I'm coming from.  As last weeks news is more or less irrelevant like any news (ask the The Daily Mail after this weeks furoiri over the death of Steven Gately commentary piece by one of … [Read more...]

Its Friday, so it's time to do the news British Airways - Bleeding Cash. Oh it's been over the wires last week - BA managed to make a £148m loss this quarter. Not as bad as some of it's competitors, but still pretty bad. Of course, the changes they're making have been well documented in this Blog... Air France/KLM Group - Air France/KLM lost 496m euros … [Read more...]

The airline defines a rainy day as one having at least five millimeters of rain per square metre based on results at www.wetteronline.de. “If the sunny stay hoped for by many is spoiled by rain, … [Read more...]

IFE News – It’s been busy…

24/07/2009 by Kevincm

Ok- a quick roundup in the world of In Flight Entertainment (yes - on topic for this blog for once!) US Airways signs with GoGo for Wireless connectivity - Leapfrogs United. Yes - my favourite airline has leapfrogged United and has decided to plump for GoGo wireless, and will be installing it in A321 aircraft. With a 50 aircraft deployed currently and an additional 15, … [Read more...]

Come in BMI.. your time is up!

22/06/2009 by Kevincm

Well for us BMI Diamond Club members, the end is finally nearing in the Love-Hate forced takeover of BMI by Lufthansa. Like any couple heading up the isle, there has been squabbles, backtracking, leagel fights.. leaving the children (in this case, BMI staff and BMI flyers) waiting for the outcome. But today, it seems "LHBD Holding Limited" exists as a holding company in … [Read more...]
