Emirates upscales Dubai to Glasgow route

27/11/2012 by Kevincm

Emirates is preparing to up-scale the Dubai-Glasgow route.

Currently, Emirates operates two flights a day – one operated by a Airbus A340 (EK25/26), whilst the other is operated by a Boeing 777-300ER (EK027/EK028).

The airline is planning to up-scale the operation so that both services are operated using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft from 1st January 2013.

For Emirates, this is the 2nd expansion they’ve had at Glasgow – EK25/26 are new flights only introduced since June 2012. The decision to up-scale it this early indicates the route must be yielding well, with an extra 650 seats a week.

Timings will remain as-is.

Another reason could be because that Emirates is an Official Partner of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the Official Airline of the Queen’s Baton Relay.

Still, its more seats up for grabs on another route.
