Time for something different as I look at the brand new Cathay Pacific Lounge at Heathrow Airport.
Getting in
There is a lift to the lounge as it is on to upper floor. Except on the day I visited, the lifts weren’t working as intended, and it took the Cathay Pacific ground staff time to figure out what was going on. A bit of a service failure there.
Check-in
Check-in was handled with profuse apologies
The lounge is split into two – a first class section and a business class section. I was allocated the use of the business class section.
So one of the main features that dominates the lounge is the noodle and dim sum bar
There’s also causal dining too
A manned bar is offered too. A nice touch. And yes, they do have champagne behind the bar – you just have to ask.
There’s also plenty of seating options – some of which face put onto the tarmac
There are nice little touches too – such as a power draw:
I also got to try a noddle dish or two (I was dining with another tier point runner). Here’s what’s on offer:
I went for the DanDan noodles. My new friend went for a veggie option that was good.
And as for the DanDan noodles excellently done
Overall:
there are some rough edges in this lounge, but as it has been soft-launched – I’ll let them slide for now.
I’ll be interested in how this lounge is performing a month down the line… and I intend to pay another visit in January…
