It seems things in Southern Rail land are heading from bad to worse, with another rail strike in progress

The strike is a result of the on-going dispute between Southern and RMT union over proposed driver only operation of trains. In addition, members of the ASLEF union are engaged in an overtime ban.
Routes and operations by Southern Railway are expected to be impacted severely. This includes services on the Brighton Main Line to Gatwick Airport.
⚠ Industrial action is significantly affecting services today. Please check ahead.

Travel advice from Southern can be found at http://www.southernrailway.com/your-journey/strike, however with two unions striking, this is going make commuting near enough impossible during the next three days… and for those visiting the UK from Gatwick – difficult travel situations (and it might be an idea to check National Express and other providers for cheap coach travel to Victoria).
Whilst the RMT Union strike ends on the 8th December, the ASLEF overtime ban will be in place still.
In addition, Southern has posted a list of upcoming strikes this month.
- Tuesday 6 to Thursday 8 December (RMT conductors’ strike)
- Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 December (ASLEF & RMT drivers’ strike)
- Friday 16 December (ASLEF & RMT drivers’ strike)
- Monday 19 to Tuesday 20 December (RMT conductors’ strike) – changed date
- Saturday 31 December to Monday 2 January (RMT conductors’ strike)
- Monday 9 to Saturday 14 January (ASLEF & RMT drivers’ strike)
Good luck if you’ve got to put up with this class one omnishambles…
