Emirates clears the US Large Electronics Ban

05/07/2017 by Kevincm

It’s time for the other UAE major airport to clear the Electronics Ban, with Dubai Airport now clear – meaning that Dubai based carrier Emirates passengers can carry large electronic items on-board with them.

The announcement was confirmed in a tweet:

Effective immediately laptops & electronic devices can be taken onboard all Emirates flights from Dubai to the US https://t.co/ii805S5mkN pic.twitter.com/iU7WCFKSq1

And in a statement on their site, the airline says:

Effective immediately, the electronics ban has been lifted for Emirates’ flights from Dubai International Airport to the U.S.A. Emirates has been working hard in coordination with various aviation stakeholders and the local authorities to implement heightened security measures and protocols that meet the requirements of the US Department of Homeland Security’s new security guidelines for all US bound flights. We would like to express our gratitude to the US and local authorities for their support and thank our customers for their understanding and patience during the last few months when the ban was in place.

Emirates join Turkish Airlines and Etihad in clearing the large electronics ban imposed by the US Department of Homeland Security.

With airlines and airports now appeasing US Authorities, this ban is starting to fade away slowly.
