A lot of us have storage problems when using our digital electronics (a great example is the joke that’s my hard disk… actually – let’s not go there… the SSD install still haunts me).
But in more portable devices (such as phones and drones) are demanding more and more storage. Sandisk however are here to the rescue… with a 400Gb MicroSD card.

This 400Gb device follows the introduction of a 200Gb microSD card in 2015. In numbers terms, this should hold 40 hours of HD video.
SanDisk are targeting those with Android smartphones, tablets and drone users with this memory card, and is rated at the UHS-I standard – meaning it should be able to read at up to 100 MB/s.
You’ll need to check that this memory card is compatible with you device though
For those who have deep pockets, a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $249.99 has been listed. and should become available via the usual channels in the USA, with global coverage to follow. It’s listed on Amazon USA with a 2-4 week lead time
For those in the UK, it’s listed on Amazon UK with a 1-4 month availability for £224.99.
Sometimes, having one card with everything on it is a great thing – no swapping cards around, everything centrally located (and considering we’re meant to be headed to a cloud based world, seeing massive memory cards appear is amusing). For those doing video work, something like this is a boon with masses of storage available to you to collect content with.
A word of advice though – microSD cards are notoriously easy to lose… and I don’t even want to think of loosing 400Gb of data in something as small as a thumbnail….

One more reason why iPhones with limited storage and lack of memory card slots are crappy. Think of how much it cost to step up from say 16gb to 32 or 64 in Apple land. The cost of flash memory is so cheap in those smaller sizes.
