Time for another snapshot – this time examining the passenger experience with British Airways between Amsterdam Schiphol and London Heathrow T5 in EuroTraveller (Economy Class).
Pre-departure
British Airways utilise Check-in 2 area for primary check-in. From here, you clear security and the Netherlands/EU Border. Once clear you’re into the main pre-departure area for Non-Schengen departures.
The lounge
British Airways has a dedicated lounge at Amsterdam Schiphol. Long time Amsterdam lounge watchers will be happy to know that soup is still served in the lounge. Boarding was called from the lounge.
Boarding
Boarding was conducted from the far end of the D pier. Plan accordingly if you’re a slow walker
The Plane
It’s a British Airways Airbus A319
The Seat
This plane has the current Rockwell Collins / B/E Aerospace Pinnacle Seat. I was located in the exit row, with a 34″ seat pitch and a 18″ seat width.
IFE and Connectivity
Overhead video screens were used for the safety demonstration. No on-board connectivity was available
Catering
A Buy-on-board service was offered the plane with the usual M&S onboard selection
