10/03/2012 by Kevincm

It seems there was a major outage at London Gatwick this morning. At 03:30GMT, there was a power cut that has hit the luggage carousels in the North Terminal at Gatwick. In turn this has caused flights to leave the airport without baggage. The belts begun working at 10:30GMT, with extra staff called in to sort the baggage manually. In some cases, baggage has not … [Read more...]

09/03/2012 by Kevincm

In the saga of Qantas, it seems things just go from bad to worse. The plan to establish a premium airline has come to a halt after they withdrew from discussions with Malaysian Airlines. The excuse given is down to money: "Discussions with Malaysia Airlines on a partnership, including the establishment of a new premium airline, would not continue due to parties being unable … [Read more...]

a seat in an airplane

So the new Lufthansa Business Class Flat seat is out, which will first appear in their Boeing 747-8I's.  Here's a few pics. And whilst it's been a long time coming for Fully Flat seats in Lufthansa Business Class (who currently have wedgie type seats - lie on it too long and you'll end up with... a wedgie), there have been some major innovations from the reverse … [Read more...]

Air France A380’s spread their wings… to Singapore

07/03/2012 by Kevincm

Time for some more A380 news, with an Air France deciding to operate their Paris-CDG to Singapore run. The route is a bit haphazzard, as it seems it's being run 3 days a week. So for those of you who love A380's initally from the 1st April to 12 June. On other days, it's back to the cram-fest that is an Air France 777-300ER (10 across in the back. Lovely.) AF256 DEPART CDG … [Read more...]

The New United.com – Check your PNR’s/Get your new PNR’s…

07/03/2012 by Kevincm

Well with the dust that is settling on the switch to the new Continental style United Web site, I had a good look over it, and agree with a lot of moans. One thing to look out for which I haven't seen much of is that some PNR's have changed. In my example, I have some segments on United and Air Canada coming up on the same booking (booked on the olde United Airlines UK … [Read more...]

05/03/2012 by Kevincm

It seems there is a fight brewing for BMI Baby. Yes, I laughed at that too. But apparently people are interested in the British Midland Airways Low Cost Carrier, with a second group - quoted as an "EU based Airline Group" now joining the action. British Midland Airways say: "This potential new owner, which has operations in several countries across Europe, would acquire … [Read more...]
