Norwegian Air Shuttle removes a 787 from service – swaps for A340

Norwegian Air Shuttle isn't having much luck with their Boeing 787 fleet, as operational issues the airline has had with them (most recently a hydraulic pump failure at Bangkok). Sleeping in the air? Not on the flight deck please…

Worrying statistics have been released by BALPA today indicating that in a survey which is showing a lot of tiredness in the air - and more worryingly in the cockpit. The survey indicated 56% of pilots surveyed out of a batch of 500 had fallen asleep on the flight deck whilst in command of a plane.
