787 Update: United goes for swoosh, Ethiopian shows off a product.

12/07/2012 by Kevincm

Time for another 787 update. Firstly, United Airlines have updated how their Boeing 787-8's are going to look. Alas, no tulip to return, not nice conservative blue with a gradiated tail. Instead, it's still the old Continental colour scheme with a swoosh on the side of it. Images - The Boeing Company Very Swooshy. For those who remember the pre-production test … [Read more...]

United abandons Houston – Auckland plans, 1300 jobs for the cut

04/06/2012 by Kevincm

It seems the decision to allow Southwest Airlines to operate international routes from William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) has created a backlash from United Airlines. When Houston City Council agreed with Southwest airlines to build a $100 million International clearance and arrivals terminal United were "unhappy" to say the least. It seems that "unhappiness" has now had serious … [Read more...]

Thin and Long route? United to introduce Denver to Tokyo with a 787… with a stinger

23/05/2012 by Kevincm

787 route announcements are becoming more common with more planes entering service slowly. It seems that United are going to try and take advantage of the "thin and long" concept (thin demand, long flight) with their new 787 by opening a route from Denver International to Tokyo Narita International Airport. Now don't get too excited as the route is not due to commence until … [Read more...]

The New United.com – Check your PNR’s/Get your new PNR’s…

07/03/2012 by Kevincm

Well with the dust that is settling on the switch to the new Continental style United Web site, I had a good look over it, and agree with a lot of moans. One thing to look out for which I haven't seen much of is that some PNR's have changed. In my example, I have some segments on United and Air Canada coming up on the same booking (booked on the olde United Airlines UK … [Read more...]
