It seems the effects of Brexit are beginning to be felt on Transataltic traffic, with Delta planning to cut flights in the autumn/winter timetable.

In its recent investors update, Delta has announced a 6% cut in USA <> UK services, with a total cut of 1% of services across the Delta network.
According to Delta:
Capacity Actions In Response to Global Events
With the additional foreign currency pressure from the steep drop in the British pound and the economic uncertainty from Brexit, Delta has decided to reduce 6 points of U.S.-U.K. capacity from its winter schedule. These changes, in combination with other network actions, will reduce system capacity by approximately one point in the December 2016 quarter and the company now expects to grow its system capacity by 1 percent year over year during this period.
Actual timetable changes have yet to be loaded yet – but none the less, expect cuts from services – if anywhere from London and maybe Delta’s other destinations in the UK (such as Edinburgh and Manchester).
Delta also works with Virgin Atlantic (in which it owns 49% of the airline) to help run services across the Atlantic – so there maybe more moved from Delta onto Virgin Atlantic in the autumn/winter timetable.
None the less – this could be a sign of things to come as the UK ponders what the hell Brexit will mean… apart from a clapped out currency and markets which have been more than rattled.
