MOS Burger and Japan Airlines team up for interesting in-flight food

31/05/2017 by Kevincm

Starting tomorrow Japan Airlines and Mos Burger are teaming up for their latest collaboration – with another new menu called AIR MOS Yakiniku Rice Burger★JAL SPECIAL.

This will be served as a second service in Economy and Premium Economy. It will operated on limited routes from Japan to Europe and North America, including:

  • From Tokyo (Narita) to Chicago, Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), New York JFK), Los Angeles, San Diego, Vancouver, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Paris (CDG), and Sydney
  • From Tokyo (Haneda) to San Francisco, New York (JFK), London (LHR), and Paris (CDG)
  • From Osaka (Kansai) to Los Angeles

Japan Airlines states

“This exclusive hamburger is expected to represent MOS BURGER’s respect for Japanese food culture and JAL’s commitment to providing high-quality products and services with the spirit of Japanese hospitality.”

The burger itself is made up of what Japan Airlines state

“of US beef rib, which has been marinated in an original sauce made of Japanese soy sauce with raw Japanese green onions, ginger, and apple juice, is grilled and used as the filling in the AIR MOS Yakiniku Burger.”

This catering delight is in the air for the summer season – with it in the air from 1st June 2017 through to 31st August 2017.

It’s always good to see different catering options in the air that deviate away from Chicken or Pasta (especially if you’re in the back of the plane).

Seeing this innovation and tie-ups almost makes you want to fly economy class – it certainly makes some business class meals look rather… boring.

I’ve had a previous version of “Air Mos” before. The themed meals are one of the things I enjoy when travelling with JAL

Your meals are usually very good, but this meal was disgusting.. I tried it on my trip to Helsinki and said no to it when served as a breakfast from Tokyo to Sydney on Thursday morning. I hope you don’t serve this to your Business of First Class passengers. Everything about your airline is great, other than this. poor choice of food. And we usually like to fly JAL but maybe next time our friends and our families will reconsider.. By the way, many people around where we were sitting were not eating what was served. Sorry!

    to Sydney.
