Ryanair returns once again Zodiac Aerospace for seating aboard their planes, with a confirmation new seats are coming..

The new seat will fly aboard the upcoming Boeing 737 MAX 8 200 fleet.
According to the airline, the slimline seat will be delivered with the new aircraft from 2019.
The airline states that the aircraft will have more space, with the rear galley deleted, and two toilets being moved in its place.
With the new Zodiac seats, a 31″ seat pitch will be achieved using slimline seats . More importantly for Ryanair, with these changes for 197 seats per plane – verses the current 186 seats aboard a Boeing 737-800 (that is currently used in the Ryanair fleet).
Now, let’s have a think about that 31″ seat pitch – and not a lot of airlines offer this in short-haul economy any more. Primary candidates include Lufthansa (aboard their dreadful layout for the A320neo), British Airways (who think a 30″ pitch is good for Clue Europe passengers – let alone anyone else), EasyJet (who come in at a titchy 29″) and Vueling (who come in between 29″ and 30″ depending on the type of aircraft).
Ryanair CMO Kenny Jacobs said:
” We’re also pleased that our new Boeing 737 Max “Gamechanger” aircraft will feature new ergonomic slimlime seats designed by Zodiac, which will further increase legroom to 31 inches.”
The airline also introduced integration with Amazon Alexa, and is currently celebrating carrying over 1 billion passengers since its inception since 1985.
Whilst some of you are making noises about more slimline seating – it is a trend in the industry as airlines seek to cut the cost of carrying seats on planes (with some latest generation seats coming in at less than 9kg a seat). I would assume that these seats are low weight and more importantly – low maintenance too, allowing Ryanair to run them as they need to.
More importantly, the latest generation of seats are improving, with better ergonomics, and knee room – which can only be a positive in this writers eyes.
As I’ve proved a couple of times, Ryanair are becoming a lot more acceptable when you fly – providing you play by the rules.
And considering they are offering more leg room on their new planes – its something to consider if you’re looking for personal space on a plane.
