Ryanair’s Director of Commercial, Jason McGuinness said:
“We are delighted to offer even greater choice, more routes and extra flights to Greece for our UK customers this summer. The UK Government’s highly successful vaccination programme gives customers the confidenc\e that travel will be possible this summer. UK consumers can now choose from over 20 routes (including three announced today) and 5 extra weekly flights at low fares to some of the most popular summer holiday destinations in Greece.
Mindful that Covid restrictions change regularly, Ryanair is now allowing up to two free flight date changes on all bookings should plans change. Customers can now book flights for a well-deserved break knowing that if they need to postpone or change their travel dates, they can do so with a ‘Zero Change Fee’ until the end of October 2021.
Here comes the summer sun…
With airlines hoping for the end of lockdown and the resumption of international, they are beginning to move to take advantage of the latent demand for the desire of people to get away from the past 12 months.
Vaccination programmes do come into play – as well as testing. Ryanair is hoping the velocity that Europe and the UK are proceeding at continues so that countries can open their borders as needed.
However if Coronavirus has proved anything so far, the virus does not respect airline timetables, government timetables or plans – and that the monitoring of outbreaks will be key as countries seek to unlock travel and tourism.
Whilst Ryanair is hoping for the best (as is everyone), there are still many people that need to be vaccinated, or need to prove they’re safe to travel.
Hopefully, governments around the world can start to look to lowering their border when the time comes.
For now, you might need Ryanair’s Zero Change Fee promise if cases climb again.
