We’re barrelling through January faster than the beast from Omicron Persi 8 can keep up. Even then, it’s time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.
Well, this week has been minorly eventful, with a trip to get an MRI scan. Dear $deity… the sound of it… the sound of the scanner.
Hotel Check
- HOTEL CHECK: Premier Inn, Worcester (M5, J6) – Well, I’m not arguing at £39 a night. Just pay for decent Wi-Fi though.
Routes and Networks
- Ryanair to close its Frankfurt-am-Main base – I’ve missed a proper Ryanair “throw the toys out of the pram paddy”… haven’t you?
- Virgin Atlantic to launch London-Austin Route – Off to Texas with you!
- British Airways to launch four routes out of London City Airport – More routes out of British Airways other London hub.
- Emerald Airlines to add more regional links from Belfast City Airport for Aer Lingus – More links between Northern Ireland and the British Isles.
Passenger Experience
- Air France unveils new amenity kits for Business and Premium Economy Passengers – So chic. So reusable.
Codeshares
- American Airlines and Aer Lingus to launch a new codeshare agreement – the Atlantic Joint Business Venture seems to have swallowed more traffic.
Rail
- Avanti West Coast to implement massive cuts next week – Oh boy. From three times an hour to once per hour in a lot of cases.
Pretty Pictures
Next Week
As everyone continues to ride out out the current wave, the business of aviation continues, as airlines balance their timetables and planning into trips continue for people – including me.
I’ll have my usual mix of news, updates and reviews (and there are plenty of travel technology reviews in the pipeline – there are three laptop reviews in it right now).
Until then – stay safe out there.
