Emirates to deploy “normal” capacity to India

28/03/2022 by Kevincm

It seems that for Emirates, the Indian market is more than healthy, as the airline prepares to roll out a full pre-pandemic timetable.

The airline will push to re-launch its full timetable from the 1st April 2022, with Emirates planning to operate 170 flights a week to nine cities across the country.

The move comes on the back of the decision by the Indian government to restore international flights to and from the country in line with established bilateral agreements from the end of March 2022.

Emirates will be operating the following flights and frequencies to India:

  • Mumbai- 35 weekly flights
  • New Delhi- 28 weekly flights
  • Bengaluru – 24 weekly flights
  • Chennai- 21 weekly flights
  • Hyderabad- 21 weekly flights
  • Kochi- 14 weekly flights
  • Kolkata – 11 weekly flights
  • Ahmedabad- 9 weekly flight
  • Thiruvananthapuram- 7 weekly flights

The Airbus A380 is also back, with it operating daily between Dubai and Mumbai in March 2022 on the EK 500/501 flight pair.

Premium services will also be available on the ground for First and Business Class with Emirates from Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi passengers, who can use the complimentary chauffeur drive service to the airport and on arrival at select locations within the airline’s global network, as well as the Emirates lounge network.

Returning connectivity

As the world continues to open up for travellers – for business, work or pleasure – Emirates is laying on the capacity for the passengers to return – along with the big aircraft to support the routes.

Expect movement on plane types on certain routes over the next few months, as the airline works out the actual demand and requirements as people seek to reconnect.
