April is amongst us, with all the fun and games it promises. Time for Last Week at Economy Class and Beyond.
Life returns to normal – but protection is everything. Even on scaffolding poles.
Trip Report – Sweet Home Chicago
This is taking a little longer than usual – but we’re up and running. First two parts this week, with some more coming next week!
- Back to the Windy City with American Airlines and British Airways – My rambling introduction.
- Testing, Testing, Swab, 1-2-3… – Sweet Home, Chicago – Who doesn’t love a swab up their nose?
Routes and Networks
- Emirates to deploy “normal” capacity to India – It seems that travel is back to India for Emirates.
- British Airways returns short-haul international operations to Gatwick Airport – British Airways is back at Gatwick, with a lower cost base.
- LEVEL prepares to reconnect Barcelona to Los Angeles and San Francisco – LEVEL is back on the West Coast.
- Air France prepares for busy Summer 2022, with around 200 destinations on the network – Well. 196 destinations. Close enough.
Connectivity
- China Airlines A321neo – now featuring Inmarsat connectivity in the sky – More connectivity in the sky.
Passenger Experience
- Jet2 re-introduces “Twilight Check-in” – For those who are travelling with families, this could be a major thing to make life easier.
On the railways
- Advanced Purchase Rail Tickets in the United Kingdom: How late can you leave it before travel? – Depending on the train operator – a lot later than you think!
- KLM and Thalys announce additional AirRail capacity – It’s limited growth, but growth nonetheless on the Brussels/Amsterdam route.

Next week
The trip report will be continuing at a pace, with a lot more coming out next week. There are also a few other things “in-flight” that are in the deep planning phase that need more than a little work.
On top of that, we’ll have our usual mixture of news and views. And maybe some reviews too.
Until then, stay safe and happy landings!
