Two more destinations are being added to the roster which will be served with the retrofitted Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft
The next destinations and flights to have the new products are:
- Kuwait: The retrofitted Emirates Boeing 777 will operate on EK855 and 856 from 27 October.
- Dammam: The refurbished Emirates Boeing 777 will operate on the daily EK823 and EK824 as well as the EK 821 and EK 822 from 22 November
The airline is deploying these retrofitted aircraft to allow its passengers to experience the latest products on short flights. Kuwait and Dammam become the second and third cities in the Gulf Cooperation Council to be served by the refurbished Emirates Boeing 777s.
The Emirates Boeing 777 entered refurbishment in early July, and so far, six aircraft have fully rolled out into service, flying to Geneva, Zurich, Brussels, Haneda and Riyadh.
These aircraft feature a business class cabin with 38 seats in a 1-2-1 seating layout,
The seats derive a lot of the passenger experience that has come from the A380 rollout, featuring leather seats and a minibar. More importantly, the seats convert into a a flat bed, with up to 78.6 inches. There’s also a 23-inch HD screen so you can be entertained in the air.
The four-class configuration features 24 Premium Economy seats set in a 2-4-2 abreast layout. The 19.5-inch-wide cream leather seats consist of a 38-inch pitch, reclining 8 inches to stretch and relax, in addition to 6-way adjustable headrests.
Finally, the new Economy Class cabin features 256 ergonomically designed seats in a colour palette of soft greys and blues.
The rollout continues
As we’ve covered, Emirates is pursuing a quick rollout of the new products, as well as adding further aircraft to the refit list due to aircraft OEM’s not being able to start deliveries (in the case of Boeing) or suffering delays (in the case of both Boeing and Airbus)
Emirates will also be growing its network of cities featuring latest generation products in Business Class and Premium Economy, with the introduction of refurbished Boeing 777s on six routes in the US, including Chicago, Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Seattle, Athens/Newark and Miami/Bogota.
With the massive fleet refurbishment in progress, there should be more aircraft with the updated products onboard – which will be welcome when compared to Emirates current business class product, as well as offering the choice of Premium Economy seating for those who want a little bit more than just an economy class seat.
