It’s Sunday again, so it must be time for some more Airplane Art.
This week, we have a British Airways Airbus A319 arriving at London Heathrow Terminal 3 in retro British European Airways colours.
British Airways operates a fleet of 25 active Airbus A3119 aircraft. The airline also operates the Airbus A320, Airbus A321, Airbus A320neo and Airbus A321neo in its mainline single-aisle fleet.
This A319 was repainted as part of the British Airways 100 Celebration in 2019, where four aircraft (three Boeing 747s and this Airbus A319) were painted in retro colour schemes (with the 747s painted into the “Landor“, “Negus” and “BOAC“). Both Landor and Negus survived in preservation, with BOAC scrapped.
This A319 – G-EUPJ – was delivered to British Airways in May 2000, being kept with the airline. It was stored in November 2022 and reactivated into service in July 2024, remaining in service with the airline.
As part of the short-haul fleet, it remains busy, operating out of its London Heathrow home to Lisbon, Belfast, Machester, Dusseldorf, Dublin, Zurich, Venice, Geneva, Naples and Munich.
More Airplane Art next week!
