Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is planning to offer improved benefits when booking a Virgin Atlantic Holiday. Let’s dive in.
The big news is that from the 13th March 2025, Flying Club members will receive double Tier Points on Virgin Atlantic flights when booking a Virgin Atlantic Holiday.
In addition, between 13th March and 30th September 2025, the lead booker will receive 200 bonus Tier Points if they spend £4,000 or more on a Virgin Atlantic Holiday booked.
There are some implications to this – depending on the class of service booked. According to Virgin Atlantic:
- If the holiday includes Upper Class flight, then everyone travelling will receive Silver status
- If the holiday includes Premium or Economy Delight flights and is worth £4,000 or more then the lead booker will receive Silver status
Virgin Atlantic Silver is equivalent to SkyTeam Elite status. You can check what it offers you here.
The move follows, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club being the first UK loyalty programme to award Tier Points for customers booking holidays. According to the airline, this will make it easier for passengers to chase Silver and Gold.

Anthony Woodman, Vice President, Flying Club & CRM, Virgin Atlantic, commented;
“Finding ways to make Flying Club even more rewarding never stops, which is why it’s now time to double up on our benefits for customers choosing Virgin Atlantic Holidays.
“Every member should feel valued and I’m delighted that anyone enjoying a holiday will double their tier points, reaching status even faster, with further bonus tier points available on top of this. This latest evolution means that Virgin Atlantic Holidays are more appealing than ever, showing our unwavering commitment to all our members, whatever their reasons for travelling.”
An interesting
The move seems to match what another airline has done in the past, with the changes to their Club programme to offer double Tier Points. With British Airways planning to offer “limitless” tier points (depending on how much you spend, of course). These can be used to accelerate your membership and status level with BA.
It seems that Virgin Atlantic has chosen the more conservative approach of double tier points to attract its customers, whilst throwing in some good possibilities for those starting from the floor level.
And even then, when booking through Virgin Atlantic Holidays, you can board first in the Economy cabin and holidaymakers qualify for free plane seat selection seven days before departure
With 400 Tier Points to Silver, it’s a very accelerated starting point – if you have £4000 to put down on a holiday.
